Great sporting events are coming! We’ve rounded up some of the major events coming this month so you won’t miss a thing.

September 2023 is packed with exciting sports events, as fans of cricket, Formula One, Cycling, Rowing, and Tenns will also have plenty to enjoy, as some of the biggest tournaments and races take place across the globe. Whether you are watching from home or traveling to support your team, here are some of the key highlights of the sports calendar this month:


Rugby Revelry

The first big tournament of the month is the Rugby Union! Starting on the 8th of September and running until the 28th of October, there are high hopes for England reaching the final! England’s first game will be against Argentina at 8 pm on Saturday 9th September.


Football Fun

On September 12th, England is playing Scotland in a special football match to represent the 150th anniversary of their rivalry. The friendly is scheduled to kick off at 7:45 pm, taking place in Glasgow, at the site of FIFA’s first recognized international match. With so much history between the two teams, you can’t miss it!

There are also several qualifying group-stage matches happening in September for the 2024 Euros. Matchday 5 consists of ten matches taking place between 7th-9th of September, and Matchday 6 is happening on the 10th-12th of September.


Golf Galore

There are two different golf tournaments taking place this September: the Solheim Cup and the Ryder Cup. The Solheim Cup is first, happening between the 22-24th September, which is the women’s competition between Team Europe and Team USA. The Ryder Cup comes next, taking place from the 29th of September – 1st of October, which is the men’s competition. English golfer Luke Donald is captain of Team Europe for the Ryder Cup, and Laura Davies is another prominent English golfer who is vice-captain for Team Europe for the Solheim Cup.


Other notable championships this September:

Rowing world championships take place between Sun, 3 Sept 2023 – Sun, 10 Sept 2023 and will be the first opportunity for rowers to qualify for the Olympics and Paralympics.

Invictus Games take place 9-16 September 2023

World Artistic Gymnastics Championships take place between Sat, 30 Sept 2023 – Sun, 8 Oct 2023
