Half term has officially arrived… and if you’re already hearing “I’m bored” before 10am, don’t worry, The Baytree Shopping Centre is here to help! ✨ Whether you’re planning a full family day out or just looking for a few easy ways to keep the little ones busy, our centre is packed with family-friendly shops, treats and activities right in the heart of Brentwood. From craft supplies and pocket-money shopping to sweet treats and summer essentials, here are four simple ways to make the most of half-term at The Baytree. 👀
1. Start with a pocket money adventure
One of the easiest ways to keep children entertained? Give them a small budget and let them explore.👀 A trip around The Baytree Shopping Centre can quickly turn into a mini adventure as little ones browse toys, books, stationery and hidden gems throughout the centre. A stop into The Works is always a winner for affordable activity books, crafts, colouring sets and puzzles, perfect for keeping the fun going once you get home too. Meanwhile, stores like Poundland are ideal for snacks, games and little treats that make half term feel extra special. 🛍️
2. Pick out their next favourite book
There’s something lovely about letting children choose a brand-new book for half term. Whether it’s a colourful picture book, a new fantasy adventure or an activity-filled sticker book, a visit to Waterstones is the perfect rainy-day activity. 📚
3. Refuel with a snack
After exploring the centre, why not stop for a bite to eat and enjoy some family time together? Whether it’s grabbing lunch at Cafe Neon 7 or simply taking a break from the shopping bags, there are plenty of easy food options nearby to recharge before heading back out again. And let’s be honest… snacks from Poundland solve at least 80% of half term problems. 😂
4. Choose something new
Sometimes the excitement of half term is simply getting to pick something for themselves. Maybe it’s a new outfit from Sports Direct before summer activities begin, a fun accessory, or even a fresh pair of shoes from Clarks. 👟
So if you’re looking for simple, affordable and family-friendly ways to survive half term… you know where to find us! Make sure to head down, pop in and say hello. 👋
